| Thai Bodywork: An Ancient Therapeutic Tradition During a Thai Bodywork session, you will be gently moved or rocked into various positions and stretches. Beginning with slow, rhythmic and gentle touch, pressure is applied with thumbs, fingers, palm, elbows, knees or feet along pressure points and energy meridians. Pressure can be then adjusted according to your needs or preferences. While it can be performed in a very gentle and relaxing manner, this type of bodywork also allows for much deeper work than many other types of more common modalities and is perfect for people who often feel that they are not able to get enough pressure in their massage This work is often effective in reducing neck and shoulder pain, headaches and low back pain. Postural distortions due to muscular imbalance and facial restriction are alleviated and often corrected. It is also used to support athletes preparing for and recovering from sporting events, and help patients recover faster from surgery. Recipients have reported reduced discomfort from arthritis, menstrual cramps, insomnia, digestive difficulties, chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. Benefits tend to multiply with regular treatments.. This work is done without oils or lotions and is performed with the client fully clothed in comfortable, loose fitting clothing. After the session, many people report feeling extremely relaxed yet energized. |

| Clinical Thai Bodywork: East Meets West Healing This approach utilizes many of the Thai Bodywork techniques but is customized based on pain patterns and postural distortions. Informed by a modern western understanding of trigger points and myofacial pain patterns, as based strongly on Drs. Travell and Simons seminal work, a treatment plan is devised based on a thorough postural analysis and myofacial pain assessment. |
